Gas water heaters

Input rating greater than symbol 21.98 kW (75 000 Btu/h) and storage capacity 76 to 380 litres (20 to 100 U.S. gallons) 0.67 – 0.0005V
Where
EF = Energy factor as defined in the CSA test procedure
V = rated storage capacity in litres.

Requirements for the energy efficiency report, as listed in Schedule IV of the Regulations

  • type of product (gas water heater);
  • brand name;
  • model number;
  • manufacturer;
  • name of the organization or province that carried out the gas water heater verification and authorized the verification mark that will be affixed to the water heater;
  • rated volume of the storage tank in litres;
  • energy factor;
  • input rating;
  • recovery efficiency;
  • annual energy consumption in Btu; and
  • whether propane or natural gas is the fuel used.

APPLIES TO
stationary gas-heated water containers having an input of 21.98 Kw (75 000 Btu/h) or less and a storage capacity of 76 litres (20 U.S. gallons) to 380 litres (100 U.S. gallons) that use propane or natural gas.
